Keeping Your Child Safe Online

As a parent you play a key role in supporting your child to learn about how to stay safe online, and you are one of the first people your child will turn to if things go wrong. We know it can be difficult to stay on top of the wide range of sites and devices that young people use, so we hope that the following advice helps.

1.  Have on-going conversations with your children about staying safe online.

2.  Establish rules and guidelines to ensure the safety of your child while on the Internet.

3.  Use safety tools on social networks and other online services, eg Facebook privacy settings.

4.  Use parental controls on your home internet.
