Your Online Safety

The Internet is a powerful learning tool when used correctly but some materials available via the Internet can be illegal, offensive or inaccurate.  For your protection, and that of other users, C2K filters all the material that comes into school and keeps a check on all accounts being accessed.

Along with your parents, you will be required to sign the ICT Acceptable Use Agreement.

This simplified code of conduct applies at all times, in and out of school hours, whilst using school equipment and accounts:

You should:

  • Only access sites that are appropriate for use in school.

  • Be aware that others can see your actions on the Internet.

  • Be careful of what you say to others and how you say it.

  • Respect copyright and trademarks.

  • Check with a teacher before opening email attachments or completing online questionnaires or subscription forms.

  • Checks with a teacher before giving personal information about yourself or others to anyone via the WWW.

You must not:

  • Give your password to anyone else or allow them to use your account.

  • Download games or other programs from the Internet or elsewhere.

  • Use unauthorised web-based communication services.

  • Send, access or display offensive messages or pictures.

  • Waste time on the computer doing things that are not related to your work in school.

  • Intentionally cause damage to the computer system.

You are encouraged to use the internet responsibly and to remember that the use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right.
